Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our team at Unreal Gigs. As a key member of our product engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining systems and services that automate the ingestion, storage, and retrieval of our healthcare price transparency dataset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable systems and services using Go and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with our team to prototype user experiences and APIs for our products.
  • Contribute to defining the product engineering roadmap and architecture for our company.
  • Stay up-to-date on advancements in healthcare technology to inform our product development strategy.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a software product development role.
  • Proficiency in Go and experience with Postgres and Git.
  • Knowledge of the Amazon AWS stack and cloud-based infrastructure monitoring tools.
  • Understanding of container execution environments like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a dynamic team environment.
  • Passion for improving affordability and transparency in the US healthcare market.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with primitives like streams and async programming.
  • Experience working with healthcare billing and pricing data.
  • Proficiency in handling massive datasets and building high-performance systems at scale.
  • Previous experience in roles involving direct interaction with customers.
