Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family Law Attorney to join our team at The Murphy Law Firm. As a Family Law Attorney, you will be responsible for overseeing legal matters related to family and estate planning, collaborating closely with our Managing Attorney, and providing exceptional legal services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in court proceedings and manage the division of marital assets during divorce cases.
  • Advocate for clients by understanding their needs, analyzing situations, and developing action plans.
  • Handle full case responsibilities from start to finish, including conducting legal research and preparing reports on relevant case issues.
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for client documents and communicate effectively with senior partners, paralegals, and clients throughout the legal process.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to legal assistants and paralegals, draft legal documents, and prepare clients and cases for trial proceedings.
  • Interact with clients and collaborate with experts when necessary, develop and maintain relationships with current and potential clients, and uphold a professional demeanor in court appearances and client interactions.
  • Organize and manage client files diligently to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of Family Law litigation experience.
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice in DC.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability to value client service and teamwork, and strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Efficient time management, critical thinking, multitasking abilities, and skilled in negotiation and persuasion techniques.
  • Familiarity with Google Drive and G-Suite products and ability to think outside the box.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Estate Planning experience.
  • MyCase (case management system) experience.
  • Creative Problem Solving.
  • Maryland Bar license waiver.
