Job Summary

As a Phlebotomist I at PathGroup, you will be responsible for performing daily phlebotomy activities with accuracy and efficiency. This role involves interacting with clients, patients, and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner, while performing specimen collection and processing duties in accordance with established practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and process specimens accurately and efficiently, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Interact with clients and patients in a professional and courteous manner, providing excellent customer service.
  • Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures with confidence and precision.
  • Dispose of biohazardous materials and contaminated sharps in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Enter patient and specimen information into computer systems with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communicate with clients and colleagues to confirm orders, verify test results, and obtain billing information.
  • Research test and client information using lab computer systems.
  • Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
  • Package specimens for transport and store samples according to required temperature and protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including daily logs and statistics.
  • Perform basic clerical duties, such as filing, faxing, and preparing mail.
  • Approve time in attendance software and submit expense and travel logs in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to departmental and company code of grooming and dress code policies.
  • Utilize time effectively, maintaining fluctuating patient flow and displaying courteous and professional behavior.


Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Phlebotomist Certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Prior job-related experience is preferred, but not required.
