Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician I/Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at Johns Hopkins HealthCare. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests, processing samples, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests, including phlebotomy, occult and gastric blood tests, and urine pH and volume tests.
  • Process samples, including accessioning, receiving, aliquoting, and labeling.
  • Operate and maintain automated pre-analytic instrumentation.
  • Record and report results accurately.
  • Enter patient data and review requisitions.
  • Maintain established levels of supplies and inventory, and ensure a clean and organized workspace.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance initiatives and provide feedback to leadership.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including coursework in biology, chemistry, and mathematics.
  • No experience required, but some experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.
  • Computer and data entry skills are required.
  • Successful completion of training will require at least 100 blood draws and competency testing.
