Job Summary

Group O is seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager to develop, coordinate, and implement environmental, safety, occupational health, and sustainability outcomes using global and federal regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor current and changing safety and health regulations to ensure compliance with Federal and State safety and health regulations.
  • Develop and oversee training and awareness programs to maintain a safe, healthy, and environmentally conscious work environment.
  • Conduct safety training and education programs, and demonstrate the proper use of safety equipment.
  • Oversee and participate in regular audits to ensure compliance with environmental health and safety regulations.
  • Build relationships with managers, supervisors, and employees to promote a culture of safety.
  • Identify, reduce, and eliminate workplace hazards and conditions to reduce injury and unsafe working environments.
  • Investigate and review injury and near-miss incidents to determine root cause and prevent re-occurrence.
  • Coordinate "Right-To-Know" programs regarding hazardous chemicals and other substances.
  • Maintain required safety and health documents and files.
  • Travel to various work settings to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategic safety planning to reduce occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Monitor and administer workers' compensation claims, report generation, and communication with employees, managers, insurance carriers, medical personnel, and lawyers.
  • Develop and manage the early Return to Work program.
  • Develop and maintain hygiene programs, such as noise surveys, personal exposure monitoring, and ventilation surveys.
  • Manage and maintain OSHA 300 Logs and records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related science degree with extensive skill, knowledge, and experience in OSHA regulations or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of related experience with a minimum of 2 years' experience in manufacturing.
  • Expert knowledge of General Industry OSHA regulations and experience maintaining OSHA 300 Log Records.
  • Proven experience writing safety and health support programs and policies.
  • Ability to analyze types, frequency, and/or severity of accidents to help develop prevention programs.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and HR Management System (HRMS).
  • Ability to work on sensitive issues with discretion and a high level of commitment to confidentiality.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with people from all backgrounds and levels of employment.
  • Experience in Quality Certifications, such as SedEx, ISO, and expectations.
