Skana Aluminum Co. Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Skana Aluminum Co. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance operations and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and supervision to the maintenance team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage and maintain all database information related to preventive maintenance, including work orders, tracking, and record-keeping.
  • Develop and implement plans for maintenance projects and downtime, ensuring adherence to schedule and developing contingency plans as necessary.
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance plans are current, accurate, and in place for all equipment types.
  • Maintain records of work order history and parts usage to provide reports on operating costs.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance staff, assisting in diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing equipment, as well as conducting facilities upkeep projects.
  • Work with the EHS Coordinator to develop and improve safety programs and training within the maintenance department.
  • Coordinate and develop skill growth opportunities for direct reports.
  • Maintain a "Service Mentality" when working with all employees.
  • Comply with the Company's quality management system requirements.
  • Follow and enforce all company policies.
  • Provide support for the Company Apprenticeship Program.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of maintenance experience or incremental growth in a supervisory or plant engineering experience desired.
  • Associate's Degree and/or Journeyman Status in a related field preferred.
  • Mechanical and electrical experience (hydraulic, pneumatic) is required.
  • Foundry or large equipment knowledge is preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Champion of safety and quality initiatives.
  • Facilitate team building, problem-solving, and conflict resolution within the team.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capacity to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Computer proficiency is required.
