Job Title: Senior Commercial Manager

Location: Denver as the primary office location, will consider remote from North Eastern U.S.

Job Summary:

Lead sales and business development activities for key accounts in Paints, Coatings, Adhesives, and Sealants. The primary goals are to (i) serve as the key relationship manager for assigned customers in the above segments, (ii) deliver annual budgeted top-line revenue, and (iii) identify and close key growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plans, directs, and leads account planning and management for assigned customers in North America.
  2. Set quantifiable and accountable key objectives for the assigned group of customers.
  3. Measure and report performance against defined objectives.
  4. Negotiate short and long-term purchase agreements with major customers.
  5. Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts.
  6. Manage competitive responses and adapt tactics to optimize price increases, product offerings and product mix.
  7. Leads the development of new products and/or processes that address unmet market needs and have significant potential for profitable returns.
  8. Identify key market indicators and report forward market movements to sales and marketing analysts.
  9. Maintains confidentiality of sales volumes, pricing, new product development and intellectual company property.
  10. Keeps current on information and technology and industry affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Technical or Business field. Masters degree preferred.

Minimum of 15 years leadership experience in industrial minerals with emphasis on strategic and consultative selling and business development.

Minimum of 10 years product development and applications either, paints, coatings, or polymers.

Experience managing large industrial accountants ($5 - $10 mm).

  • Must have the ability to plan and manage the execution of sales plans.
  • Requires strategic selling skills for value created customer products.
  • Requires strong technical skills to identify optimal product applications.
  • Ability to interface and influence at all levels within assigned customer's organization.
  • Demonstrated intellectual integrity.
  • Ability to apply deductive reasoning, scientific methodology, and practical problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to think ahead and plan over 1 to 5+ year time span.
  • Ability to organize and manage diverse and multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated problem analysis and problem resolution skills at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Understanding of the supply chain for Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, Operations, Credit, Billing, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to create and manipulate complex spreadsheets in Excel.
  • Ability to create and deliver professional presentations.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with change and change management.
