IT Systems Administrator

The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for delivering comprehensive Information Technology (IT) support services. This role encompasses a wide range of IT services including systems administration, systems integration and testing, configuration management, infrastructure management, and end-user support and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Windows Servers, desktop systems, SAN devices, and Linux Servers.
- Oversee SharePoint, Database, File, Print, and Application servers, ensuring compliance with security and policy requirements.
- Conduct backups, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting to maintain system integrity.
- Execute system upgrades and provide support while logging and troubleshooting issues using the Action Request System.
- Deliver network, server, and desktop administration along with help desk support to users.
- Install, configure, and manage Windows servers and desktop computers.
- Administer desktop and server-based software applications as per client requirements.
- Provide end-user support for computer and web account management and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with fellow system administrators and team members to address inter-system challenges.
- Work alongside the Information Assurance Manager and Officer to identify and mitigate security concerns.
- Assist users with remote and on-site desktop management for computer systems and peripheral devices.
- Resolve desktop issues, manage user accounts, and reset passwords as necessary.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, relocate, and repair desktops, peripheral devices, and printers.
- Conduct basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and software packages.
- Support the imaging of computer devices (desktop/laptop).
- Perform hardware repairs and installations including PCs, laptops, workstations, and printers.
- Track and report weekly metrics on the completion of all tasks.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and team collaboration abilities.
- Manage training and certification initiatives for employees.
- Maintain a detail-oriented and safety-conscious approach.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT environment.
- Level II: Minimum of 5 years' experience in an IT setting.
- Level III: Minimum of 7 years' experience in an IT environment.
- DoD 8570 Baseline Certification; IAT Level III.
- Computer Environment (CE): Microsoft Technology Associate or A+CCNA.
Required Skills and Certifications
- DoD 8570 Baseline Certification; IAT Level III.
- Proficiency in Windows Server, SharePoint, SQL Server, SAN devices, SCCM, SCOM, WSUS, DHCP, VMware, and Linux.
- Familiarity with various protocols and services.
- Ability to perform sedentary work, requiring extended periods of sitting and use of a keyboard and monitor.
- Capability to lift 20-50 lbs as needed.
