Opportunity Details:

We are currently in search of a dedicated Civil Engineer to enhance our Great Lakes East Roadway Practice.

Key Duties:

  • Engage in various engineering tasks including plan development, quantity assessments, geometric and drainage design, maintenance of traffic (MOT), specifications, and cost evaluations.
  • Leverage software tools such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and MS Office while collaborating with a diverse team of engineers, technicians, planners, and surveyors.
  • Ideal candidates will have experience in preliminary engineering or detailed design, showcasing strong technical abilities, adaptability, effective communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Participate in non-design engineering functions, including field data collection as needed.
  • Work under the guidance of Project Managers or Senior Project Engineers and explore various design alternatives.
  • Enhance professional knowledge through workshops, literature, networking, and involvement in relevant professional organizations.
  • Assist in crafting business proposals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in design or plan production in transportation engineering.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new challenges and problem-solving methods.
  • Value diverse perspectives in problem-solving and encourage mutual learning within the team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in roadway or transportation design within the region.
  • Familiarity with local plan requirements and experience with roadway projects.
  • Basic skills in 3D modeling and knowledge of OpenRoads Designer.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu and EIT certification is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in the transportation sector is a plus.
