Position Overview:

As a key member of our engineering team, you will collaborate closely with senior management and engineering professionals, as well as various governmental agencies, to execute a range of transportation engineering and operational initiatives aimed at enhancing community infrastructure. This role is available for remote work within the states of Pennsylvania and Ohio, and candidates must reside in these states.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or assist in traffic engineering projects, including signal operations, signal timing, and the design and integration of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) within Pennsylvania and neighboring areas.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance arterial traffic flow and safety, including the creation of performance measurement tools, standard operating procedures, deficiency reports, and mitigation strategies, while coordinating with local agencies for traffic signal and arterial system management.
  • Oversee and provide visible support for customer traffic operations through on-site signal timing adjustments and analysis of existing traffic operational challenges.
  • Work in partnership with client management to ensure project delivery aligns with client satisfaction and business objectives.
  • Engage with local and regional business development initiatives.
  • Foster strategic thinking to expand business opportunities and enhance client retention rates.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and provide consultation to other team members as needed.
  • Support the management of engineering and planning staff through mentorship and training initiatives.
  • Identify client requirements and formulate a comprehensive plan and proposal for project execution.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification, or International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in transportation engineering or a related field is essential.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in managing projects and/or programs for public agencies, including staff management and mentorship.
  • Must be based in Pennsylvania or Ohio and possess experience working with state transportation departments or major public sector clients.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Synchro, Sim Traffic, VISSIM, AutoCAD, and MicroStation is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
