General Manager, Rail Operations

ConGlobal is a leading operator of intermodal, finished vehicle, and depot service terminals across North America. We take pride in delivering superior and reliable service, a broad scope of services, and an exemplary safety record. We are seeking a General Manager to lead our Automotive ramp operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and drive auto terminal strategies through people, processes, and systems.
  • Implement policies, programs, and initiatives to improve auto facility operations and safety.
  • Drive a safety and continuous improvement culture.
  • Build collaborative partnerships between ConGlobal and local railroad customers at auto facilities.
  • Conduct Safety & Terminal Observations and/or Audits.
  • Train and develop Auto Ramp Managers at local operations across the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with the safety team to ensure timely reporting and investigation of incidents.
  • Partner with Ramp Managers to ensure KPIs are met, including safety, quality, productivity, service, and returns.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in auto facilities in a management role is preferred.
  • 5+ years Terminal Manager experience preferred.
  • 7+ years in auto facilities, intermodal, transportation, logistics, or warehousing operations is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of employees and customers is required.
  • Working knowledge and experience with lean systems, including kaizen events, KPIs, and metrics.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
  • Financial management experience, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based data systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Travel required.
