Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Rail Engineer to join our team in Fort Worth, TX. As a key member of our Freight Rail Market Sector, you'll play a critical role in designing and delivering complex rail infrastructure projects that drive economic growth and improve transportation efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead discipline or task teams on railroad or civil engineering design projects
  • Support project managers in marketing and contracting activities
  • Manage scope, budget, and schedule for rail and rail-related transportation projects
  • Perform detailed QC reviews of projects
  • Represent HDR at industry events and conferences
  • Mentor junior staff and support technical development
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in railway engineering and managing complex multidisciplinary railway projects
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in civil design experience with at least 5 years within the railway engineering industry and 2 years within managing railway or civil projects
  • Proven experience in railroad horizontal and vertical alignments, earthwork modeling, drainage design, and plan production
  • Knowledge of railroad analysis programs and railroad and/or civil design software
