Job Description

Sierra Community College is seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Analyst to join our team. As an Information Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for providing complex and independent analysis to improve the technical and functional support of our information systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to improve the technical and functional support of our information systems.
  • Communicate with users of systems to understand their needs and provide technical support.
  • Research and resolve technical and functional system issues.
  • Analyze and prioritize functional business operational needs.
  • Oversee and monitor progress on approved technical initiatives and system-related projects.
  • Provide direction and support to users in defining system rules, system requirements, and report specifications.
  • Serve as the Data Steward and Technical Liaison for software products used by our college.
  • Retrieve and analyze student services data stored in the ERP system and other systems.
  • Evaluate new or currently unused system functionality to support student success.
  • Monitor and communicate new information to members of our work groups and task forces.
  • Coordinate system-related data refreshes between software systems and other systems.
  • Coordinate and participate in system testing for systems directly impacting our college.
  • Assist in developing and/or updating processes and procedures for new and existing technical tasks or utilities.
  • Complete analysis of data/processes and procedures that impact technical effectiveness.
  • Document user requirements and work with IIT to ensure timely implementation or delivery of technical service requests.
  • Represent our college in determining business impact of proposed upgrades and/or system changes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, managed information systems, statistics, or any related field.
  • Three years of increasingly responsible experience in supporting an ERP system or comparable experience.
  • Knowledge of human relations skills, technical aspects of field of specialty, district organization, operations, policies, and objectives, interpersonal skills, technical systems, methods, processes, reporting, and technical writing.
  • Ability to accomplish departmental goals, understand the organization and operation of the division, apply and interpret advanced technical and statistical concepts, use sound judgment, exercise good judgment and discretion, work under steady pressure, evaluate data integrity, extract data from information systems, design and apply algorithms, simulations, and technical business models, understand and apply Federal regulations, State laws and regulations, District policies and procedures, and guidelines governing the Student Success and Support Program.
