Avera is actively seeking Registered Nurses (RN) III dedicated to providing exceptional nursing care in patient-centered environments.

Position Highlights:

  • Student Loan Repayment: This RN role qualifies for Avera's Student Loan Repayment Program, assisting you in managing your educational debt. Each month, an additional payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will expedite your loan repayment.

Job Overview

  • The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional responsible for delivering patient care.
  • The nurse operates in accordance with professional nursing standards.
  • The RN may oversee the activities of other nursing personnel.
  • All nursing responsibilities adhere to the ANA standards.
  • Staff must maintain a level of physical and mental health necessary to perform their duties effectively.
  • Complies with the Nursing Code of Ethics and Avera St Mary's Hospital's Mission and Service Excellence Standards.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program with current licensure in the State of South Dakota.
  • Engage in educational opportunities to maintain and enhance professional clinical competency related to job responsibilities.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory for all patient care staff.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within one year of employment in the Emergency Room.
  • Completion of Trauma Nurse Core Course is necessary within one year in the Emergency Room.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required within one year of employment in the Emergency Room.
  • Attend all mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and training sessions.
  • Certification in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) is required within one year of employment.
  • Maintain certification requirements while employed in the department.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Current licensure with the State of South Dakota as a Registered Nurse or multi-state licensure.

Work Schedule

  • Varied shifts; 72 hours every two weeks
    • Every other weekend
    • Every other holiday
    • Occasional on-call duty

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position is detailed below. Actual hourly rate will be determined based on experience.
