Job Title: Senior Payroll Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Payroll Manager to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in Irving, Texas.

Job Summary:

The Senior Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payrolls for salaried, hourly, and union employees in multiple states and provinces in the U.S. and Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the payroll process, including payroll tax, garnishments, and compliance processes.
  • Lead and manage a team of payroll professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely processing of payrolls.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and laws.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including HR, Labor Relations, and Finance, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of payroll analysts and payroll coordinators to ensure accurate processing of multijurisdictional payrolls.
  • Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with payroll, payroll tax, and associated processes.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of payroll experience, with specific expertise in handling complex in-house payroll processes and ensuring compliance across multiple countries, states, and provinces.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing and leading a team.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite and HR information systems.
  • Familiarity with research and statistical methods applied to payroll and payroll tax management and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
  • Knowledge of JDE, SAP, and/or Workday.
