The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the strategic vision and safety plan for all EPC projects, providing direct leadership, coaching, and mentoring to on-site EPC Project Safety Professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee implementation of strategies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, minimizing risk, and establishing a world-class safety culture.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance safety initiatives and achieve superior safety performance.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to monitor performance and maintain a visible dashboard to ensure ongoing safety recognition and corrective action.
  • Lead efforts to enhance the safety culture within the organization, fostering a mindset of safety as a core value.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness through ongoing education and communication initiatives.
  • Champion leading indicator initiatives, such as Safety Observations, Good Catches, and Corrective Action Completion.
  • Lead safety efforts to detect and eliminate potential risks, establish standards, and methods for measuring safety performance.
  • Support management to ensure complete and thorough accident investigation, accurate recording of details, and implementation of corrective action for all work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Train coaches and mentors on safety professionals and operations leadership concerning methods for resolving at-risk behaviors or noncompliance situations.
  • Compile and report on project and division safety performance weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly as needed internally and externally.
Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Lead and provide mentoring, support, and guidance to direct reports and all safety professionals within the organization.
  • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to operations management and senior leadership.
Work Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of Health and Safety Construction, Electrical Utility, Heavy Industrial/Mechanical in a leadership position or other equivalent experience.
  • Subject matter expert with local, state, and federal codes as they apply to all aspects of construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate Health and Safety-related risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team with attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Education/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety or related technical discipline.
  • BCSP, CHST, CSP, or other recognized certification.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to lead multiple objectives (areas) and delegate/reassign priorities as needed.
  • Ability to interact, communicate, lead, and influence effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to use standard office software programs, including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and audiovisual presentations.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • Ability to walk and perform site inspections periodically, in various environmental conditions (cold, heat, wind, and various forms of precipitation). Also, noise exposure can exceed 85 DB.
  • Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking significant distances.
