Job Overview

Position Summary: Act as a senior assurance expert throughout all stages of the audit process with minimal oversight, across diverse sectors such as manufacturing, energy, professional services, healthcare, government, wholesale/distribution, financial institutions, and nonprofit organizations.

  • Uphold the firm's core values and service excellence standards.
  • Conduct research and evaluate financial statement matters using various electronic resources and software tools.
  • Enhance the assurance workflow by applying analytical skills to identify, assess, and articulate challenges and opportunities, proposing effective solutions to client concerns.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of company operations to evaluate internal controls and deliver value-added business process solutions to client management.
  • Communicate timely results effectively, both internally and externally, regarding project and client information.
  • Foster positive, professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Manage moderately complex tasks through to completion.
  • Guide and mentor staff and interns on detailed engagements for moderately complex to less complex clients.
  • Stay updated on relevant software applications and their optimal use to enhance efficiency.
  • Gain insights into job performance economics and firm operations by reviewing and adhering to budgets and billing guidelines.
  • Participate in advanced assurance training sessions.
  • Engage in professional and business organizations as required.
  • Contribute to client development and marketing initiatives as necessary.
  • Assist in staff recruitment activities and events to support the firm's hiring efforts.
  • Expected chargeable time is 1,600 hours within a 2,250-hour work year.
  • Comply with the firm's quality control standards.
  • Maintain a high standard of independence and integrity.
  • Travel as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Two to four years of recent experience in public accounting.
  • Familiarity with generally accepted auditing standards and accounting principles (FASB, GAAP, OCBOA) and industry-specific regulations.
  • Experience with paperless auditing applications is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong research, organizational, analytical, and computer skills are essential.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional client service with the utmost integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Experience with Caseware and McGladrey methodology is preferred.
  • Ability to meet budgetary and time constraints.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will frequently be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, drive, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift or move up to 25 lbs.
