Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Equipment Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and upkeep of mechanical systems and machinery. This role requires a solid understanding of mechanical operations to effectively address and resolve equipment issues. The specialist will also be involved in the installation, disassembly, or relocation of machinery and heavy equipment in accordance with layout designs, schematics, or other technical documents. Given the nature of King Juice Company as a beverage production facility, this position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of our products, necessitating a focus on food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, assemble, and conduct tests on new machinery and equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Regularly inspect machinery for potential malfunctions through visual checks, auditory assessments, and scheduled evaluations.
  • Identify and promptly address signs of equipment malfunction, including performance changes, temperature variations, unusual sounds, odors, or atypical energy consumption; troubleshoot production machinery effectively.
  • Execute routine preventative maintenance and servicing for all equipment.
  • Perform urgent repairs on various machinery types, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems; efficiently identify and replace worn or damaged components.
  • Utilize a range of power and hand tools to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machinery and surrounding work areas; develop and uphold a schedule for machinery inspection, servicing, and testing.
  • Interpret and follow work orders related to the servicing, modification, or installation of machinery.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members in a high-noise environment.
  • Service, repair, adjust, and test various machines and equipment that primarily operate on mechanical principles.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of standard maintenance and repair practices.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with team members and operational staff at all levels.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and assess maintenance needs.
  • Replace defective machine parts or adjust the alignment and clearances of moving components.
  • Repair and lubricate machinery and equipment as necessary.
  • Keep accurate service and repair records using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Personal Skills and Competencies:

  • Extensive mechanical and manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy items for extended periods.
  • Capable of acting decisively in emergency situations.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols for hand tools, power tools, and various equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Experience using CMMS software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams.
  • Skilled in using a variety of hand tools and equipment.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems and components.
