Job Summary

The Tax Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the company's indirect tax compliance by filing returns and addressing notices in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tax Return Filing: Analyze monthly sales and use tax activity and file corresponding tax returns.
  • Audit Support: Assist with sales and use tax audits.
  • Personal Property Returns: File personal property returns for the company's various locations.
  • Franchise Tax Returns: Calculate and file franchise tax returns for the company's various entities.
  • Tax Compliance Tracking: Track monthly tax compliance activity via the company's tax calendar.
  • Business License Updates: Manage the business license annual updates.
  • Tax Research: Research taxability of transactions for operational and estimating staff.
  • Tax Filing: File gross receipts tax, value-added tax, and business occupational taxes.
  • Payroll Reports: Assist with filing various payroll reports including federal, state, local, and Canadian filings.
  • Special Projects: Assist with special projects and ad hoc analysis.
Requirements
  • Education: B.S. in Accounting / Finance.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in tax compliance.
  • Indirect Tax Experience: Experience with indirect taxes.
  • Multiple Entities: Experience working with multiple legal entities and foreign currency a plus.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Accounting Systems: Experience with accounting systems such as JD Edwards.

  • Work Authorization: Must be able to legally work in the United States.
  • Drug-Free Environment: Must be willing to work in a drug-free environment and agree to a post-offer drug test.
  • Work Safety: Must be willing to work safely.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project Management: Ability to effectively plan and organize to meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
