Job Summary

The Server is a key member of our team at Tavistock Restaurant Collection, responsible for delivering exceptional hospitality to our guests. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Server, providing memorable dining experiences and ensuring our guests feel valued and cared for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver genuine hospitality to and establish emotional connections with our guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Contribute to the overall teamwork and success of the restaurant, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve our goals.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and team members, providing clear and concise information and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Determine guests' needs and make recommendations to enhance their dining experience, ensuring they feel valued and cared for.
  • Execute beverage tray service, answering guest questions regarding food and beverage offerings and providing expert recommendations.
  • Adhere to all alcohol awareness procedures, ensuring a safe and responsible service.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and alert a manager immediately, resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Process payments and handle cash professionally and accurately, maintaining a high level of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Communicate with managers and hosts regarding table availability and key table updates, ensuring seamless service and efficient operations.
  • Follow up with guests about their meal and dining experience, ensuring great guest satisfaction and encouraging repeat business.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation, adhering to our high standards and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our guests.
  • Demonstrate a professional and gracious demeanor at all times, representing Tavistock Restaurant Collection with pride and integrity.
  • Perform all opening, running, and closing duties accurately, ensuring a smooth and efficient service.
  • Perform any job function requested by the management team, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing business needs.

Requirements

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School; able to communicate (speak, read, and write) in English.

Experience: Previous hospitality experience is preferred.

Computer Skills: Experience using a Point of Sale (POS) system.

Certificates & Licenses: N/A.

Other Requirements: Must meet local, legal minimum age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages; coordination skills that allow proper pouring and carrying of several drinks and plates at the same time.
