Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Massachusetts General Hospital. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for operating radiographic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct equipment system warm-up and quality assurance procedures to ensure safe and effective equipment operation.
  • Identify patients by checking identification bands against requisitions prior to procedures.
  • Interpret exam requests and ensure patient history conforms to requested exams.
  • Position and instruct patients for procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Select proper exposure factors for procedures and arrange immobilization devices to obtain desired radiographic positions.
  • Adjust lead shields and collimate to protect unaffected body parts from radiation exposure.
  • Maintain knowledge of radiation safety, universal precautions, and proper handling of requisitions.
  • Respond to emergency situations and maintain a high level of quality assurance for finished radiographs.
Requirements
  • Valid license to practice as a radiologic technologist in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Successful completion of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Ability to provide compassionate care to patients and respond to emergency situations.
Work Environment

This is a per diem position with flexible shifts available during the week. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
