The Role Overview

\

The Staff Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the accounting department. This position is essential to maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations, including overseeing accounts receivable, billing, and bank reconciliations. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly financial reports for clients, supporting the company's financial goals, and collaborating closely with the Accounting Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage the complete accounting process, including handling accounts receivable, billing, bank reconciliations, and preparing payables for check printing.\
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly financial reports for clients, ensuring all transactions are properly captured. Manage accounts receivable and invoicing processes with a high degree of accuracy.\
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations, identifying and addressing any discrepancies in a timely manner to maintain balanced accounts.\
  • Collaboration with Accounting Assistant: Work closely with the Accounting Assistant to ensure smooth processing of entries, payables, and deposits. Provide guidance and support as needed.\
  • Software Utilization: Use QuickBooks and AppFolio Property Management software for all accounting tasks, and demonstrate adaptability in learning new technologies.\

Qualifications:

  • Education: An Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.\
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting, bookkeeping, or a related financial role is required.\
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks and AppFolio Property Management software (or a willingness to learn).\
    • Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy.\
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.\
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
