Position Overview:

The role involves developing a dynamic curriculum and fostering a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and personal development. The educator will build strong relationships with students, encouraging them to cultivate the skills, attitudes, and knowledge necessary for a solid educational foundation, tailored to each student's capabilities. Additionally, establishing positive connections with parents and collaborating with fellow staff members is essential. Key Responsibilities: Instructs students in art, adhering to the curriculum set forth by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and the local Board of Education, while integrating suitable learning activities. Guides students in civic responsibilities and fundamental subjects as mandated by state regulations and district policies. Creates lesson plans and educational materials, providing personalized and small group instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. Transforms lesson plans into engaging learning experiences, optimizing instructional time. Implements fair grading practices based on established criteria. Maintains a respectful and dignified classroom environment to support effective learning. Assesses students' academic and social development, maintains accurate records, and prepares progress reports. Engages with parents through meetings and other communication methods to discuss student progress and clarify the educational program. Interacts positively and professionally with students, staff, and parents. Identifies student needs and collaborates with other professionals to address health, behavioral, and learning challenges. Builds rapport with students, ensuring a safe and orderly learning environment. Actively participates in the comprehensive implementation of the district's School Improvement model. Enhances professional skills through district-provided training and self-directed professional development. Supervises students during extracurricular activities throughout the workday. Performs additional duties as assigned. In the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation, alternative work arrangements may be necessary, as determined by district leadership. Guidelines for such arrangements will be communicated by the supervisor based on the individual's role. Oklahoma Teaching Certification in Secondary Education for the specified subjects or an Alternative Teaching Certification approved by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms. Capability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community. Ability to collaborate effectively with others, demonstrating self-discipline and initiative while adhering to state and district guidelines. Physical and Mental Requirements: Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to write clearly and perform necessary computer tasks. Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret, and transcribe written materials. Requires normal hearing range and clear speaking abilities for effective interaction with others. May involve some bending, stretching, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to sit for extended periods. May require occasional work outside standard hours, including weekends, under potentially stressful conditions to meet business needs and deadlines. Work Environment: Office responsibilities will be conducted in a well-lit, climate-controlled setting.
