About Us:
Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) is a public, tuition-free charter school serving grades K1-12. We proudly cater to a diverse student body from various neighborhoods, emphasizing the importance of social-emotional development alongside academic achievement. Our mission is to ensure that every student thrives, graduates, and is prepared for post-secondary education and life success.
Role Overview:
As a Secondary Education History Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in fostering student success through strong relationships and a supportive classroom environment. Your ability to manage a dynamic classroom will be essential in creating a positive and engaging learning atmosphere. You will be responsible for delivering differentiated lessons that encourage students to enhance their skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach four periods daily, focusing on history curriculum.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, accountability, and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with colleagues and families to support student growth.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Commitment to anti-racist and culturally responsive teaching practices.
- Ability to cultivate a supportive and high-expectation learning environment.
- Experience in education is preferred.
