Job Title: Surgical Technologist - Orthopedics

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at Childrens National Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist in our Orthopedics department, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our surgical team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient operating room environment.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies, adhering to sterile technique and infection control protocols.
  • Provide technical support for casting, splinting, and bracing procedures, ensuring accurate and precise application.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination during procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Orthopedic surgery.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a pediatric hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMRs) and hospital information systems.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
