About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at The George Washington University Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and ready for use.
  • Assist the surgical team during procedures, anticipating their needs and providing instruments and assistance as required.
  • Take responsibility for case cleanup, ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly disposed of or sterilized after use.
  • Assist with patient positioning and transportation, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the surgical process.
  • Contribute to room turnovers, preparing the operating room for the next procedure and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness.
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
  • High School diploma or equivalency.
  • Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Demonstrated communication, organization, and critical thinking skills.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
