Maternity Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Maternity Nurse Specialist to join our team at WMCHealth. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care in various areas, including labor and delivery, postpartum, and nursery units.
Job Responsibilities- Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough physical and emotional assessments for assigned patients, establishing nursing diagnoses and developing plans of care.
- Care Coordination: Participate in interdisciplinary planning, collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintenance of Safe Environment: Provide safe, competent, and complete care based on patient assessment and diagnosis.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on in-house and post-discharge care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete documentation, including co-signatures when required.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Associate diploma or B.S.N.
- Experience: Minimum 6 months - one year medical surgical hospital experience required; previous OB experience preferred.
- Training/License: N.A./Current NYS Registered Nurse.
- Other: BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM Training required within 6 months of employment.
