Job Description

The Assistant Director of Spa is responsible for the establishment and execution of short- and long-term goals as set by the Spa Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and enforce the Spa's policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Lead recruiting, interviewing, and hiring efforts for Associates; conduct performance appraisals, coach and counsel, progressive corrective action, motivate, develop, and train.
  • Promote and sell customized spa programs to conference groups as required.
  • Identify new business and marketing opportunities.
  • Implement a public relations program, i.e., calendar of events, media, etc.
  • Work efficiently with hotel public relations and marketing team in all aspects of spa/hotel promotion as required.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of competitors, including location, product offering, pricing, promotions, and sales techniques.
  • Coordinate and communicate with outside vendors to maximize relationships, profitability, performance, and service standards while maintaining the first-class condition of the Spa.
  • Ensure department compliance with the JW Marriott Turnberry Miami Resort and Spa policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Prepare and oversee the department's financial goals.
  • Overseeing product retailing operations at the Spa.
  • Manages supply inventories and purchasing control, including uniforms.
  • Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the department.
  • Responsible for projecting a positive image within the facility, maintaining an atmosphere of cooperative teamwork that emphasizes customer service and satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in management or supervisory position in a spa or related field. Experience in the hospitality industry an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge of full range of spa services and therapies.
  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment.
  • Well organized and demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective leadership, supervisory, and management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, management, and staff.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
