About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Education Assistant to join our team at New Story School. As an Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and behavior management of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply Behavioral Science Principles: Assist in the application of behavioral science principles to support the education and behavior management of students.
  • Run and Assist Data-Driven Practice: Assist in the implementation of data-driven practices to support student learning and behavior.
  • Assist with Precision Teaching Activities: Assist in the implementation of Precision Teaching activities to support student learning and behavior.
  • Assist with Data Recording: Assist in the recording of data related to student behavior and learning.
  • Use Data to Make Decisions: Assist in the use of data to inform instructional decisions and support student learning and behavior.
  • Assist with Explicit Instruction: Assist in the implementation of explicit instruction to support student learning and behavior.
  • Apply Mathetics to Assist Daily Instruction: Assist in the application of Mathetics to support daily instruction and student learning.
  • Assist with Direct Instruction Programs and Techniques: Assist in the implementation of direct instruction programs and techniques to support student learning and behavior.
  • Assist with Habit Training Duties: Assist in the implementation of habit training duties to support student learning and behavior.
  • Assist with the Management of Students: Assist in the management of students to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Implement Principles of Behavioral Science: Implement principles of behavioral science to effectively manage student behavior.
  • Adhere to Classroom Management Tiers: Adhere to the classroom management tier assigned to each student.
  • Use Crisis Intervention Programs: Correctly and appropriately use prescribed crisis intervention programs to support student behavior.
  • Supervise and Execute School Activities: Supervise and execute school activities inside and outside the classroom to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Maintain a Safe and Effective Classroom Environment: Assist in maintaining a safe and effective classroom environment.
  • Implement Data-Based Decision Making: Implement data-based decision making to support student learning and behavior.
  • Use Formal Academic and Behavior Data: Use formal academic and behavior data to inform instructional decisions and support student learning and behavior.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Techniques: Possess the ability to perform non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal and physical redirection and guidance of potentially physically aggressive students during crisis situations.
  • Quick Reaction and Mobility: Possess the ability to react quickly and be sufficiently mobile to redirect students that could be injurious to themselves or others.
  • Evacuation Assistance: Be able to physically assist with evacuating students during emergency situations.
  • Crisis Management Certification: Earn and maintain full certification(s) in assigned crisis management programs.
