Haugland Learning Center LLC is seeking a qualified Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism or emotional/behavioral disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Apply behavioral science principles to support student education and behavior management
  • Assist with data-driven instruction and practice
  • Support Precision Teaching activities and data recording
  • Use data to inform instructional decisions
  • Assist with explicit instruction and daily instruction
  • Apply 'Mathetics' to support daily instruction
  • Assist with direct instruction programs and techniques
  • Support habit training duties and student management
  • Implement behavioral science principles to effectively manage student behavior
  • Adhere to classroom management tiers assigned to each student
  • Use crisis intervention programs correctly and appropriately
  • Supervise and execute school activities inside and outside the classroom
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and effective classroom environment
  • Implement data-based decision making
  • Use formal academic and behavior data to inform interventions
Requirements
  • Ability to perform non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal and physical redirection and guidance of potentially physically aggressive students during crisis situations
  • Ability to react quickly and be sufficiently mobile to redirect students that could be injurious to themselves or others
  • Ability to physically assist with evacuating students during emergency situations
  • Full certification(s) in assigned crisis management programs
