We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Interpreter to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a Medical Interpreter, you will play a critical role in facilitating communication between healthcare providers and patients with limited English proficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation services to patients and families
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure effective communication and patient understanding
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment with diverse populations
  • Provide cultural orientation and education to patients and families as needed
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain certification and expertise
Requirements
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
  • Completed accredited medical interpreter training
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of college experience preferred
  • Experience interpreting in a healthcare or human service organization
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Valid driver's license
