Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team in the Department of Emergency Medicine. As a key member of our multidisciplinary care team, you will provide emergent care in the emergency setting, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.
Essential Functions
- Perform physical exams based on patient history and age, in collaboration with a collaborating physician.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests and other diagnostic studies to assess patient health needs.
- Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the physician and multidisciplinary care team.
- Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by state and University of Cincinnati Medical Center prescriptive authority.
- Participate in research and evidence-based education presentations for diverse disciplines.
- Participate in Medical Team Rounds and Quality Management initiatives.
Requirements
- Nurse Practitioner: Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program, active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority, and active Board Certification in a nursing specialty.
- Physician Assistant: Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program, active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority, and Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
