Advanced Practice Provider for Trauma and Critical Care

Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati's College of Medicine, Department of Surgery, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU).
The APP will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients in the SICU, working closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to manage the complex health needs of trauma, emergency general surgery, and critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment for complex surgical and critically ill patients
- Manage patient care from admission to stabilization and transfer out of the ICU
- Demonstrate advanced medical and nursing knowledge, sound clinical judgment, and professionalism
- Ensure timely and compliant documentation of patient care
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant program from an accredited institution
- Active Ohio APRN or Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority
- Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants certification
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience or 1 year of Physician Assistant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Four years of nursing experience in a critical care setting
- ATLS certification ideal or obtained within 6 months of hire
Work Environment
