Position Title: Training Program Coordinator - Unmanned Aerial Systems

Overview: The Training Program Coordinator role is designed to support initiatives related to Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) within the educational institution. This position is responsible for organizing, facilitating, and delivering training related to flight operations, software, hardware, and applications through various instructional methods including online, in-person, and hybrid formats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate training events focused on UAS and AAM, ensuring effective organization and delivery of instruction.
  • Facilitate the execution of training programs, providing support for flight operations and related software and hardware applications.
  • Assist with broader departmental activities, including flight testing and outreach initiatives.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Associate Director for Advanced Air Mobility Training.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in UAS or related fields is necessary.
  • Experience in planning and executing training programs for UAS and AAM is essential.
  • Hands-on experience operating various small UAS is required.
  • Preferred certifications include UAS or AAM Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) training, data analytics software training, and modeling and simulation software training.
  • A background in general aviation technologies and operations is advantageous.
  • Strong teamwork and independent working skills with minimal supervision are required.
  • Proficient PC skills, including familiarity with standard office software and industry-specific applications, are necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential, including experience in report preparation and presentation delivery.
  • Ability to comprehend technical and regulatory documentation is required.
  • Experience in supporting diverse technical and operational projects is preferred.
  • A current Remote Pilot Certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is mandatory.
  • Possession of any level of a current traditional aircraft Pilot Certificate issued by the FAA is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a FAA Second Class Medical is preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship and possession of a U.S. Passport are preferred.
