Role Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse, you will collaborate with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members to assess, evaluate, plan, implement, and coordinate treatment plans, ensuring the achievement of nursing department goals. Your role is crucial in maintaining positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain overall accountability for assigned patients.
  • Manage the efficient flow of patient care, including screening, exam preparation, and general nursing care.
  • Review and maintain patient records, including test results.
  • Administer medications as per physician orders.
  • Educate patients and families about medications and treatment plans.
  • Respond to incoming calls and provide triage when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice or possession of an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • 1 year of nursing experience is preferred.
