Job Summary

As a Field Engineer with American Engineering Testing, you will provide critical support to our Construction Services Division. Your responsibilities will include assisting engineers and technicians with various projects, conducting field testing and laboratory testing, and performing site inspections. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct geotechnical field testing and laboratory testing in accordance with QA procedures
  • Perform special inspection services, materials testing, or environmental services as needed
  • Assist in training less experienced personnel in routine field work and documentation
  • Prepare reports of field and laboratory work, including site visit reports
  • Communicate with clients to determine their project needs and provide technical support
  • Complete tasks in accordance with project quality requirements and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or related Engineering field
  • 0-3 years of experience in an engineering or science-related field
  • Internship or previous work experience preferred, but not mandatory
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) and ability to achieve professional registration (PE)
  • Experience using personal computer software, especially Microsoft Office
Work Environment

This role primarily operates in a field environment, with frequent travel required within the regional area. Occasional out-of-town travel may be necessary. The employee must be able to work in outdoor conditions, on construction sites with uneven ground and adverse weather conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands or finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will occasionally push or pull equipment weighing up to 200 pounds.
