Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Finance Leader to join our team at UMass Dartmouth. Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the university's mission and objectives.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making and drive business growth.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations, and provide guidance and training to staff as needed.
  • Represent the university on various committees and serve as a liaison with external offices on budget and finance matters.
  • Foster effective partnerships with colleges, divisions, and other units to provide financial support and guidance.
  • Oversee the integration and management of the university's finance system, including PeopleSoft/Oracle.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to prepare annual and interim financial statements, working with the system office and external auditors.
  • Review and provide input on data collection and analysis for collective bargaining proposals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Analysis, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 10 years of progressive financial management experience in increasingly responsible roles, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial and strategic planning within higher education or a similar field.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across the university community.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, with the ability to understand and communicate the relationship between detailed data and strategic objectives.
  • Strategic planning and creative problem-solving abilities, with the ability to articulate and apply NACUBO and GASB guidelines.
