Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to the mission of the organization by offering support and recovery services to individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual abuse, and child neglect through:
  • Implementing a trauma-informed, client-focused methodology to:
    • Conduct intake, evaluation, case management, crisis response, safety planning, court education, and provide information and referrals as necessary.
    • Ensure seamless client support by collaborating with essential community partners.
    • Prioritize client needs and strive to fulfill their expectations whenever feasible.
    • Engage children in a trauma-informed manner through activities that foster social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
    • Supervise, support, and interact with child residents of the facility on both individual and group levels within a structured childcare setting.
    • Identify and connect families to appropriate children's programming in the shelter, including initiatives related to primary healthcare, support groups, and extracurricular activities.
    • Conduct developmental evaluations as needed and refer families to community resources.
    • Maintain communication with parents to provide updates on their child's development and reach out in emergencies.
  • Administrative Duties
    • Ensure cleanliness and functionality of childcare areas; perform cleaning of interactive spaces throughout the day.
    • Maintain accurate records by entering necessary client data, including child progress, attendance, interests, and any issues that arise.
    • Understand and uphold appropriate group sizes and ratios; notify leadership of any staffing needs.
    • Safeguard confidential and precise records for clients, stakeholders, interns, and volunteers in agency databases, which may include various management systems.
    • Research, compose, and oversee grant reporting and relationships with grantors as directed by the supervisor.
    • Comply with agency and program protocols regarding documentation, incident reports, and client satisfaction surveys, and engage in the quality assurance process.
  • Community Engagement
    • Enhance awareness of victimization, prevention, and available resources through public speaking and media engagements as assigned by the supervisor.
    • Participate in community meetings and committees as designated by the supervisor.
    • Foster and maintain professional relationships with agency staff, volunteers, interns, stakeholders, and community partners.
    • Work during at least two school holidays and at least twice per pay period to remain aligned with the childcare schedule.
    • Support the agency's mission and stay informed on policies and procedures by attending a minimum of 75% of scheduled staff meetings; participate in additional agency meetings as requested by the supervisor.
  • Professional Growth
    • Enhance service quality by staying updated on best practices, developments, and trends related to trauma and victimization, particularly concerning intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and child maltreatment.
    • Maintain and expand skills and knowledge through training, ensuring all necessary licenses and certifications are current.
    • Be knowledgeable about approved methods for positive redirection of children of all ages, ensuring training is received on agency-approved strategies.
  • Contribute to organizational effectiveness by performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: Experience working with victims or in human services.
  • Language: Spanish-speaking preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Light work: Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly lift, twist, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including individuals.
  • Visual acuity for close and distance vision, color perception, depth perception, and focus adjustment to ensure accuracy and thoroughness in work assignments.
  • Ability to reach, stand, crouch, walk, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Access to transportation is required to meet job demands in a timely manner. Position may necessitate working outside of standard hours as services are provided 24/7.
