We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Services Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out the instructions of the Director of Wellness and supervising nursing staff to deliver high-quality care.
You will be accountable to the Director of Wellness/Executive Director for all nursing department activities and maintaining the corporate philosophy of quality care.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Supervise HHAs, CNAs and facility staff to ensure smooth operation of nursing services
- Make daily rounds of Assisted Living residents and retirement residents to monitor their condition and provide necessary care
- Observe and report symptoms and conditions of patients to the Director of Wellness or delegating RN/Physician
- Administer medications and treatments per signed doctor's orders in an accurate and safe manner
- Inform the Director of Wellness of needed supplies and equipment
- Order medication from the pharmacy as required
- Supervise the Home Health Aide to ensure proper nursing care delivery
- Provide emergency first aid when necessary
- Ensure daily assignments for patient care are carried out by nurses and HHAs
- Make daily rounds of patients and area to recognize, interpret, and report conditions to the Director of Wellness/RN/ED
- Maintain cleanliness and neatness of the nurse's station, med room, and cart
- Assist in the orientation of new staff members
- Complete admission and discharge evaluations as necessary
- Check equipment for cleanliness and condition
- Provide guidance to nursing assistants
- Promote and maintain good interpersonal relationships with residents, visitors, and personnel
- Perform related work as required per assignment
The above duties include many tasks for LPNs. At times, it may be necessary to perform other duties as requested by the Assisted Living Manager. Refusal to perform any task directed by the General Manager will be cause for disciplinary action.
Qualifications:- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program and currently licensed to practice in the state
- Work experience in the geriatric field
- Ability to communicate well and in writing
- Ability to deal with visitors, staff, and residents in a courteous manner
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60lbs
- Strong organizational skills
- Must be able to work under pressure at times
- Must be able to perform good grooming practices, personal hygiene, and be punctual and regular in attendance
- Must have a warm, friendly, congenial personality and present a professional appearance
- Ability to assess a resident's condition and intervene when necessary
- CPR certified or obtained within 90 days of hire and yearly thereafter
- May have their picture taken and image used in social media or community advertising
- May be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents' apartments
