Medical Assistant and Receptionist for Primary Care Office

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant and Receptionist to join our team at Caremed Primary and Urgent Care PC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical assisting and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately document patient history and medications
- Take patient vitals and enter them into the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Ensure data for practice goals for quality measures are followed, obtained, and documented
- Scan patient-related documents into the EHR
- Collect specimens, perform phlebotomy, PT/INR, spirometry, and EKGs
- Obtain prior authorizations for procedures and medications
- Communicate with physicians and patients regarding messages, labs, etc.
- Return messages to patients as per physician instructions
- Generate electronic referrals
- Manage medical supplies inventory and inform the Office Manager of needed supplies
- Train new staff in policies and procedures
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients
- Answer phones in a timely manner
- Take accurate and concise messages for doctors and medical assistants
- Patient scheduling based on practice guidelines
- Perform patient check-in process to ensure accurate collection of information and copayments/co-insurance
- Verify insurance coverage
- Document daily copay/coinsurance collections
- Keep the waiting room clean and neat
Requirements:
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Phlebotomy and EKG certification
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of SequelMed Electronic Medical Records (EMR) a plus
