Role Summary:

We are in search of a proficient Senior Estimator with extensive experience in heavy civil construction. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in areas such as asphalt paving, earthwork/grading, minor concrete demolition, and wet utilities installation. This role is crucial during the pre-construction phase, where you will be tasked with delivering precise project cost estimates and offering strategic insights to facilitate informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive quantity take-offs and cost assessments for heavy civil projects, including but not limited to asphalt paving and earthwork/grading.
  • Review project documentation to ascertain scope, materials, and labor needs.
  • Engage with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to compile essential information for accurate cost estimation.
  • Create detailed bid proposals and pricing strategies aimed at securing projects while ensuring profitability.
  • Employ industry-standard estimating software to conduct precise cost calculations and prepare bid documentation.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments, material pricing, and labor rates to maintain competitive and cost-effective estimates.
  • Participate in bid review sessions, negotiations, and client presentations.
  • Offer mentorship and support to junior estimators as required.
