Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at the City of Santa Ana, CA. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for performing complex engineering work and supervising technical and professional staff within an assigned engineering section.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex engineering work, including project management, design, and construction administration.
  • Supervise and train technical and professional staff, including engineers and technicians.
  • Develop and implement engineering plans, specifications, and estimates for municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project completion.
  • Conduct site inspections and monitor project progress.
  • Prepare and review reports, including project status, financial reports, and technical documents.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Three years of professional civil engineering experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Valid registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California.
  • Valid California Class C driver's license.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and methods, including project management, design, and construction administration.
  • Skills in the use of personal computers and current office software applications, including Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain project schedules and budgets, prepare bid packages, and make accurate engineering computations and drawings.
