Work Schedule
The Body Shop operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5 PM. Management personnel typically engage in 50 or more hours of work weekly and are expected to be available as required, classified as Exempt Level employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage an annual operating budget for the Body Shop.
- Project and establish monthly and annual sales targets for the Body Shop.
- Assess and oversee staffing levels, compensation structures, and employee turnover.
- Recruit, train, inspire, guide, and evaluate the performance of all service department personnel.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with customers to promote repeat business.
- Uphold the highest standards of workmanship; regularly inform technicians about dealership customer satisfaction metrics.
- Conduct monthly meetings with the general manager to review shop performance, set future objectives, and discuss promotional activities or other critical issues.
- Design and implement an ongoing advertising strategy for the Body Shop.
- Ensure all necessary shop equipment is maintained in safe and functional condition.
- Keep work areas and customer waiting areas clean and free from safety hazards.
- Organize and maintain designated parking areas for the Body Shop.
- Act as a representative of the dealership in emergencies involving the Body Shop or as directed by management.
- Stay informed about and comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting service and parts operations, including hazardous waste disposal and safety standards.
- Exhibit behaviors that align with the Company's Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Establish customer service standards and ensure their implementation; develop special processes for handling service returns.
- Serve as a liaison with factory representatives.
- Understand and apply the manufacturers' warranty policies and procedures.
- Participate in training sessions as directed by management.
- Enforce factory policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the parts department to ensure proper inventory of frequently used parts.
- Utilize available information to ensure effective problem resolution.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals; capable of writing routine reports and utilizing computer systems.
- Proficient in basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; capable of calculating rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Must meet the company's employment criteria.
- Three to five years of experience in an automotive repair environment.
- Two or more years of supervisory experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective interpersonal abilities.
- Aptitude for solving practical problems and addressing various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization; ability to interpret diverse instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
- Valid Driver's License, acceptable driving record, and a minimum age of 18 years required for driving company or customer vehicles.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Body Shop Operations Manager supervises the daily activities of Auto Body Technicians and Auto Body Estimators.
Physical Requirements

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles; frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibrations; and occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outdoor weather, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
