Role Summary
The Junior Imaging Equipment Technician will engage in observing and executing various service operations to enhance customer satisfaction and ensure the optimal performance of less complex diagnostic imaging systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a hospital radiology setting to assess and resolve imaging equipment challenges while implementing necessary repairs.
- Conduct Preventative Maintenance on assigned devices.
- Perform safety and environmental assessments to ensure adherence to Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety regulations.
- Complete essential service and repair documentation in accordance with hospital protocols and GE policies.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients to ensure issues are resolved and followed up on, fostering customer satisfaction.
- Acquire knowledge on the proper handling of tools and testing equipment, ensuring their calibration and maintenance. Stay updated on current standards, codes, and procedures related to the safe and effective use of medical devices.
- Work alongside seasoned technicians to learn advanced repair techniques and contribute to efficient service delivery within the assigned area.
- Fulfill all required Quality and Compliance training within set timelines. Promptly report any customer quality or compliance issues to the Quality Organization.
- Adhere to the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, and relevant laws and regulations applicable to this position.
Qualifications Required
- AS, BS, or MS degree, military training, certificate program, or current student nearing completion (with a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale) OR High School Diploma/GED with 6 months of experience in servicing electronic, IT, or mechanical systems.
- Previous experience or coursework demonstrating the ability to interpret schematic diagrams and perform troubleshooting and maintenance on basic diagnostic imaging or electronic devices in compliance with current standards.
- Must possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in interpreting schematic diagrams and effectively repairing and maintaining basic biomedical or electronic equipment.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, capable of conveying technical issues to clients in an understandable manner.
- Ability to foster and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Experience working collaboratively with both internal teams and external clients as part of a solution-oriented service process.
- Familiarity with diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic systems, leading to a solid understanding of electronic circuitry and devices.
- Process-oriented mindset with a focus on change management.
- Local candidates are preferred.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted, and to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for extended periods.
- Compliance with GEHC's standard background check and any additional customer access policies is required.
- Candidates must not relocate more than 30 miles from their current residence without managerial approval.
