Job Title: Instructor - HVACR and Engineering Technologies

We are seeking a highly qualified Instructor to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As an Instructor, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering instruction that fosters learner success and prepares students for successful careers in the trades and engineering technologies.

About the Position
  • Develop and continually revise curriculum that includes multicultural perspectives, core abilities, and technical content to meet industry or regulatory standards.
  • Utilize engaging instructional strategies and methodologies that foster student success both in and outside of the classroom.
  • Create learning experiences that integrate multiple alternative or emerging delivery methodologies and instructional technologies to maximize student success.
Responsibilities
  • Provide immediate, routine, and consistent feedback to students to assist them in improving performance in technical and core ability competencies.
  • Create a learning environment that integrates best practices for student success, including authentic service learning, student club events, and engagement in profession-specific activities.
  • Develop, support, participate, and collaborate with other departments on student recruitment, program marketing, and referral of students as needed for student success strategies.
  • Use data to measure quality outcomes related to student persistence, retention, completion rate, course success, and to design improvement strategies based on the evidence.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in subject area or Registered Journey-worker's/Apprentice certificate in subject area with 5 years of direct occupational experience.
  • At a minimum, occupational experience has to have occurred at least 1 year within the last 5 years.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification.
Preferred Requirements
  • Associate Degree and either: 1) Certified Master HVAC Educator, or 2) Eight Service NATE Certifications with Senior Analyst Certification and 5 years of direct occupational experience.
