Position Summary

The Repair Technician is responsible for effectively auditing, documenting, and repairing malfunctioning customer systems. This role requires adaptability to meet individual and team performance objectives while maintaining established quality standards under the guidance of the Repair Supervisor and Repair Lead.

There are opportunities for career advancement, including positions such as Repair Technician II, Critical Repair Technician, Team Lead, or Super Technician.

Work Schedule

This position operates Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities

The Repair Technician will:

  • Diagnose issues with customer systems by:
    • Verifying that the serial number on the Repair Traveler matches the device.
    • Confirming the reported issue is present.
    • Recommending necessary parts for repairs.
    • Documenting all relevant information accurately on the Repair Traveler.
    • Adhering to established timeframes and quality standards.
    • Following departmental auditing protocols.
  • Repair defective systems by:
    • Ensuring the serial number on the Repair Traveler matches the device.
    • Repairing the system with the appropriate parts.
    • Verifying that the issue has been resolved.
    • Accurately documenting all relevant information on the Repair Traveler.
    • Maintaining efficiency by adhering to timeframes and quality standards.
    • Following departmental repair guidelines.
  • Complete diagnoses and repairs efficiently to meet individual productivity goals while ensuring quality.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve collective performance objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Work with supervisors and leads on complex diagnoses and repairs to determine root causes and implement preventative measures.
  • Assist other teams with various tasks as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work or personal experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Completion of at least 1 year of technical training from a recognized program or college
  • Hardware certifications (A+, ACMT, etc.) are a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer
  • When assisting other teams, ability to stand for long periods, bend, or perform repetitive movements
  • Capability to lift up to 30+ pounds as needed
