Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Transportation Coordinator to join our team at Northern Maine Medical Center. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting residents to and from medical appointments, leisure outings, and other activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Escort and transport residents to and from medical appointments, leisure outings, and other activities as directed by the Activities Coordinator.
  • Conduct errands for the facility as directed by the Administrative Secretary.
  • Complete in-service education programs on an annual basis to maintain knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with other departmental staff, residents, and visitors.
  • Follow all facility policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Be responsible for the safety and well-being of residents under your supervision.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Experience in a nursing or skilled facility preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English in an understandable manner.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and work effectively with residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The Transportation Coordinator will be required to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position also requires the ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds.
