Position Overview

The Chief Information Officer is responsible for establishing and guiding the strategic vision for Information Technology Services. This role involves assessing the long-term technological needs of the institution and overseeing necessary hardware and software acquisitions to meet organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the IT department, providing direction and support to department heads, while addressing staff development needs and resolving conflicts.
  • Oversee resource allocation and ensure efficient deployment of IT assets across the organization.
  • Manage financial resources, including budgeting and procurement, while identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
  • Research and assess emerging technologies, collaborating with vendors and other educational institutions to explore innovative solutions.
  • Coordinate institution-wide technology initiatives, defining project goals and developing implementation strategies.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
Minimum of 8 years of management experience in a technology-focused environment.

At least 5 years of experience in business continuity planning, risk management, and vendor negotiations.

5 years of experience in customer service roles.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Information Technology or a related field.

Experience in the higher education sector.

Salary

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge: Familiarity with current technologies applicable to higher education, understanding of information security principles, and knowledge of computer networks and databases.

Skills: Proficient in managing technical teams, delivering excellent customer service, and effective communication.

Abilities: Capable of analyzing complex problems to identify technological solutions, adapting to changing circumstances, and evaluating the cost-effectiveness of solutions.
