Roadway Safety Flagging Specialist

Skilled Traffic Control Flagger
Wilhelm LLC is currently seeking applications for proficient traffic flaggers to ensure the safety of roadside operations.
With two decades of expertise in managing roadside activities across various sectors such as Tree Services, Construction, Utilities, and Disaster Response, Wilhelm LLC is dedicated to safeguarding both workers and the public. Our foundation is built on the principles of safety and respect for traffic control, which are paramount for a successful workday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, oversee, and dismantle temporary work zones, including the placement of warning signs, traffic cones, stop/slow paddles, and rumble strips.
- Utilize hand-held radios to communicate with fellow flaggers, directing two-way traffic through a single lane.
- Alert tree crews of any traffic-related concerns that may jeopardize their safety.
- Employ hand signals and directional signs to guide vehicles around construction zones.
- Thoroughly read and understand Wilhelm's safety manual and employee handbook to adhere to company policies.
- Ensure that vehicles and pedestrians do not disrupt or endanger laborers and their tasks.
- Correctly position warning and detour signage around project sites.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a drug screening and background check is mandatory prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record for at least three years are required.
- Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
- Strong understanding of state traffic regulations is essential.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and endure diverse climates, including heat, cold, and rain.
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform hand and arm movements as necessary.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preference will be given to candidates with certification from the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA), which is a condition for employment.

Compensation: $35.00 per hour
