About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commodity Buyer to join our team at Apex Innovations. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for purchasing goods and products in large quantities for resale or use in production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sustainable Development and Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to reduce the existing supplier base, ensuring a diverse and efficient supply chain.
  • Contract Negotiation and Cost Savings: Negotiate contracts with suppliers, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement process improvements.
  • Preferred Supplier Network: Establish and maintain a preferred supplier network in collaboration with Global Sourcing, ensuring seamless supply chain operations.
  • Supplier Audits and Evaluations: Conduct regular supplier audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Operational Tasks: Perform operational tasks within strategic procurement, including maintenance of master data, creation of information records, and quantity contracts.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously optimize processes within the scope of responsibilities and internal/external interfaces, ensuring maximum efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to establish dual-source strategies, process optimizations, and cost-saving projects.
  • SAP Ariba Expertise: Utilize SAP Ariba efficiently and effectively to manage procurement processes.
  • Market Trend Analysis: Recognize current market trends and adapt product category strategies accordingly.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with operational procurement and quality management teams, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Supply Chain Disruptions: Identify and escalate persistent supply chain disruptions, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.
  • Make-or-Buy Decisions: Participate in make-or-buy decisions for the Heidelberg location, ensuring strategic alignment.
  • Commercial Lead in Development Projects: Lead commercial aspects of development projects, including supplier identification, selection, and negotiation.

  • Education: Successfully completed studies in engineering or technical fields.
